A planet proof player made out of off-cuts from a ash closet.
This ScrapGuitar design was made out of two pieces of American ash left over from a cabinet. For extra strenght and looks there's an inlay of oak at the back of the body.
We used a clear grain filler because the ash has verry open grains, after which lots of clear coats were aplied and polished. The control, pickup and jack output plates are made of rusted steel, that have been lacquered and polished.
The neck is made from scraps of oak and mahogany and was then treated with a clear grain filler. The fret board is also made from mahogany. Of course the neck is clear coated and polished.
We've made an inlay and matching nut out of epoxy resin.
The neck has a 10 inch radius and feels very thin, the action is around 2mm at the 12th fret.
The body feels like a stratocaster the way it contacts your own body. Because of the humbbucker pickups and the non tremolo bridge it has more of a Les Paul kind of sound.
We don't let too much nobs and buttons get in the way, so this ScrapGuitar has just one volume knob and a 5way switch.
A very unique, solid body guitar that is ready to hit the stage!
